AYURVEDA TREATMENT FOR HAIR LOSS :

In Ayurveda, it is termed as khalitya if there is increased hair fall. It is classified under shiroroga. Romakupagata/keshamulagata vitiated pitta (bhrajaka pitta) beside with vitiated vata leads to withering of the hairs from their roots. Additional to this, vitiated sleshma / kapha with rakta would cover and cause obstruction to the hair root, resulting in no further hair growth from that particular place.
Khalitya is mainly a Pitta predominant tridoshajanya vyadhi which is all three doshas vitiated disease. Depending on the predominance of dosha, it is divided into following types.
1. Vataja Khalitya : In this type, scalp (Keshbhoomi) appears as if it is Agnidagdha and it becomes Aruna and Shyava.
2. Pittaja Khalitya : Here, the colour of scalp looks as Peeta, Neela and Harita. The scalp is enclosed by the Siras (veins). Scalp may have sweat all over.
3. Kaphaja Khalitya : Here, the scalp colour is more or less of same color but here it is Ghana and Snigdha in appearance and the colour inclines towards whitish tinge.
4. Sannipataja or Tridoshaja Khalitya : In this type of Khalitya, all the three Doshas characteristics are observed. The scalp looks like burnt and it will have nail like appearance.
